Last Night in Soho review, Culture Whisper
An Edgar Wright movie is always a cinematic event, and he still surprises. Even just earlier this year, he released his first documentary The Sparks Brothers and it was a five-star delight. And despite his obvious destiny to make a straight horror film, his latest project Last Night in Soho feels refreshingly different from his back catalogue.
Don’t worry, you still have the Wrightian needle-drops, the electrifying command of editing and visuals, the silly jokes and fantastical plot directions. But here, his energetic, entertaining style matures: it's actually half-serious.
